How much does it cost?

Sign up is completely free. We are completely transparent with our costing. You will pay a daily charge (half day minimum) based on the rate of the teacher and statutory employment on-costs (Employer’s National Insurance, Auto enrolment pension, apprenticeship levy if applicable). There will be 7% admin fee with some of this as profit and 10% charitable donation to an educational charity.

Are you different to a normal agency?

Quite simply – YES and hopefully a lot better! By using some clever technology, we can cut the costs of traditional agencies, giving school a better deal. Our service is 24/7 throughout the year, so can fit into the busy life of schools.

What if we like/don’t like a teacher?

Schools can ‘star’ their favourite supply teachers, so that job requests are sent to them first. Schools can also search individuals, if they know they need teachers with certain specialisms. If you find that the teacher has not been a good match, you can ‘block’ them from receiving further job requests from you. Want to employ one of our teacher – GREAT! There are no ‘finders’ or ‘introduction’ fees. As a thank you just recommend us to someone else!

My current agency is working, why would I change?

Sign up is completely free and we charge £161 a for a short term placement. We are completely transparent with our costing. You will pay a daily charge (half day minimum) based on the rate of the teacher and statutory employment on-costs (Employer’s National Insurance, Auto enrolment pension, apprenticeship levy if applicable). There will be 7% admin fee with some of this as profit and 10% charitable donation to an educational charity.

What about long term supply?

This is booked in exactly the same way. If the teacher is employed for a longer period of time and being expected to plan then we support the teacher getting paid at a fair rate for the work they are doing. We expect this to be at their main scale point.

What are our vetting checks like?

We have a rigorous vetting system, that is in compliance with DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education. This is then sent to you digitally for your Single Central Record. The information will include a photo, so that you can cross check the teacher as they book into school. All our vetting is done by staff who have completed the Safer Recruitment training.

Safeguarding Check-list:

– Identity

– Right to Work

– Verification of professional qualifications (including overseas qualification equivalency)

– Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check

– Barred List check

– Medical physical and mental assessment

– Prohibition from teaching check

– Discqualification by Association declaration

Where are Hive operating right now?

Check out our map which shows a radius of the supply teacher we have working for us. Currently we are operating in the South East. However if your school is out of that radius, please contact us as we are always keen to work with schools in new areas.

Referenced and checked

Safeguarding is at the top of our agenda. All our teachers are fully vetted through our rigorous systems before they are allowed to start work. These checks include;
